Emerging infectious diseases (EID) is a type of disease occurring from infections of unknown strains of microorganism. They may also reoccur from infectious diseases that may have occurred many years back. These infectious diseases are either new or have a potential to become epidemic in the near future. Some common examples of the EID include; HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Influenza, malaria, dengue, cholera, Ebola, and many others to name (Drotman et al., 2018).
Biostatistics in epidemiological studies, Emerging infectious diseases, epidemiologyLipoproteins play a vital role in cardiovascular diseases as a major risk factor. Specifically lipoprotein (a) which is a LDL like molecule, is a predictor of the cardiovascular diseases. Other LDL like apo B and apo A-1 are also used as biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases (Sandhu et al., 2016).
Importance of Molecular Biomarkers in Non-communicable diseasesThe concept of personalized medicine was first promoted with pharmacogenomics data on oncology trials which demonstrated subject’s unique genetic makeup (genome) influence on their response to medications (The Office of the Commissioner FDA, 2015).
biochemistry, Importance of Molecular Biomarkers in Non-communicable diseasesBioremediation helps cleaning up polluted environments, including soils, groundwater, and marine environments. Such systems can include bacteria, fungi, algae and plant species. They are capable of metabolizing, immobilizing or absorbing toxic compounds from their environment.
Microbial RemediationPhytoremediation processes using plants to eradicate heavy metals provide efficient and ecologically sound approaches to sequestration. This article establishes several merA gene candidates for mercury phytoremediation purpose.
Microbial Remediation, PhytoremediationResearch has shown that drug related hypersensitivity is an immune mediated response towards a drug. However, adverse reaction of the drug varies from person to person. Antibiotics and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs are the most common causes of hypersensitive reactions.
allergy drug marketWhen the ocular surface is exposed to allergen, it results in the inflammation of conjunctiva (inside of eyelid covering the eyeball) and cornea leading to allergic conjunctivitis also known as pink eyes. The prevalence of the allergic conjunctivitis is found more in summer and spring (Høvding, 2008).
