In most cases i would prefer to focus on the basic research hence it always focuses on the pure form of research that can be easily traced on enriching a particular knowledge which could be based on a specific discipline, it is also undertaken to look for new knowledge and not exactly considers practical or real social problems. And this philoaophy is sometimes applied in universities and other academic environments that could closely control and monitor the study; while the applied research only deals with identidied problems and even utilised to inveatigate and resolve social problems, and at times even regarded as potentially biased since it is less controlled(Bachman & Schutt 2011:373).
