Having explained the background to NVivo, including types of data processing, data importing and others, this section will explain briefly about the case project.

Bibliographic Data is an organized collection of references to publish in literature that includes journals, magazine articles, newspaper articles, conference proceedings, reports, government and legal publications.

It is important to establish the reliability and validity of the data before going further into the procedure of using NVivo for qualitative data processing, manipulation, analysis and representation. Scholars have studied and acknowledged the significance of meeting the condition of reliability and validity in data for generating reliable results.

Nvivo software is one of the most suitable software for qualitative analysis. This is due to its ability to accept different data types emanating from different sources.

In the previous article the importance of Nvivo as a computer assisted qualitative data analysis software, along with types of qualitative data it enables researchers to process and steps to import the same has been explained.

Nvivo comprises of three separate windows with the ‘ribbon’ below containing additional tools. The ribbon represents Quick Access toolbar (just like MS Excel).

Qualitative data can be analysed both manually and through Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS). But, given the vastness of data and systematic & rigorous preparation needed, the latter is overpowering the former.

Nvivo is a computer assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS) used for organizing and analyzing unstructured data set.
