Analyze qualitative data with
Nvivo is a computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS) used for organizing, analyzing and finding insights from the qualitative data set. Unstructured texts like interviews, open-ended questionnaires, articles, journal articles, web content, and even audio, video and image data are analyzed using Nvivo. Nvivo is available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
Understanding the use of Nvivo
This section explains the approaches of analysis techniques in Nvivo and outline of its working space. Furthermore, this section also establishes the authenticity of the results through the description of the validity and reliability of the data processed.
Qualitative data can be analysed both manually and through Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS). But, given the vastness... More

Data processing in Nvivo
Once the data is imported in the Nvivo software, it is processed to identify key themes, based on which interpretation is carried out. This helps to establish relationships in the data, clustering the common groups and identify the characteristics of the data processed

Data analysis in Nvivo
After identification of the nature of the data through nodes, auto-codes, and memos, analysis is carried out through the generating queries. Queries are further codes segregating the nodes/auto-codes and memos of the data into specific groups. This segregation is carried out through two processes– word frequencies and coding matrices. This section of the module explains how to conduct the analysis using queries.
Nvivo coding query eases the understanding of nodes and their interconnections. Given the vast array of nodes generated, researchers find... More

Data representation & visualization in Nvivo
The presentation of data analysis is incomplete without appropriate visualization. This section, therefore, details the different visualization techniques initiating from the demographic data to the core qualitative data. This section of the module explains visualization using three different techniques– clustering, mind mapping, and concept mapping.

Result summarization in Nvivo
The entire data processing and analysis techniques in Nvivo are concluded through its ‘summarization’. While reports are the summary information of the project/data processed, extracts enable us to export these reports. Framework matrices, on the other hand, provide a grid in the form of rows and columns reflecting the case nodes (interviews) and themes nodes.
Apart from sources, nodes, classifications, queries and maps, the Nvivo main folder also contains the option of ‘Reports’ (see figure... More
